Inauguration of Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers DAESI at ICAR CISH RRS, KVK Malda, West Bengal

Alumni meet and one year DAESI (Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers) programme was inaugurated at ICAR-CISH-RRS & KVK Malda, West Bengal on 28th January, 2023. The programme started with formal welcome of the Chief Guest (Swami Pratyagatmanand Ji Ramkrishna Misson Advaita Ashrama, Varanasi and Uttar Pradesh) and the Guest of Honour (Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow) by bouquet of flowers and shawl. Thereafter lightening of lamp was done by the chief guest, Honourable Director and other dignitaries. ICAR theme song was played so as to recall the significant contribution of ICAR in Indian Economy. Dr. Dipak Nayak Sr. Scientist & Incharge, ICAR-CISH-RRS & KVK, Malda welcomed the dignitaries and participants and gave introductory remarks about the DAESI programme. He welcomed all the outgoing students and the fresh batch of DAESI programme. Dr. Shailesh Kumar (SMS Fisheries) ICAR-CISH- KVK Malda highlighted the overview and importance of DAESI programme. He stressed that only DAESI training will impart easy access to agricultural technology to the farmers through the trainees of DAESI Programme. Honourable Guest of Honour and the Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, Dr. T. Damodaran, inaugurated the programme. During his inaugural address, he stated that it is a welcome step to train the input dealers, so that they could give correct advice to the farmers and bridge the wide gap existing between farmers and extension agents in the country. He also highlighted the farmer friendly technologies like natural farming and organic farming for enhancing the higher production and profitability for the farmers. In this backdrop, he strongly emphasized the need for capacity building of the input dealers and involves them as para- extension agency having DAESI as a platform to conceptualize the same. Dr. P. Barman, Scientist (Hort.-FS) ICAR-CISH-RRS, Malda proposed vote of thanks. The ultimate goal of this function was technological dissemination from lab to land through agri-input dealers so as to attain the sustainable income of the farmers. During the programme Original and Provisional Certificates were distributed among the students of DAESI Batch-II by the Chief guest and Guest of Honor. The programme was modulated by Sh. Varnayudh Vratdhari Diptikar, Senior Technical Officer, ICAR-CISH-RRS & KVK, Malda.
